Morado's - McAllen
Morado's
Description
Nestled in the heart of the neighborhood, this restaurant has become a local staple for breakfast and lunch, offering a range of traditional Mexican dishes at reasonable prices. While favorites like huevos rancheros, menudo, and fluffy pancakes delight many patrons, opinions vary on their consistency. Some diners have noted a decline in food quality and flavor, particularly with certain menu items suffering from blandness or poor preparation. Despite occasional service hiccups, the friendly staff and handmade tortillas earn points. Overall, this eatery remains a mixed bag, appealing to those seeking comfort food, though some may prefer to explore other options.

The food is delicious, and I highly recommend visiting my favorite waiter, Mari. The service is excellent, and the place is clean.
Everything is great here, but the pancakes are absolutely incredible. They completely surpass IHOP and Denny's by a long shot. Both the corn and flour tortillas are handmade and perfect. This is my go-to spot whenever I want to enjoy something delicious.
It's ok , coffee wasn't that great. I had the chiken country fried steak it was pretty good. Beans were ok. Flour tortillas pretty good. Food was fast , took a while to get our ticket to go pay. I don't think i'm coming back
Hadn’t been here in a while, way more than a yr. So decided to take my mom and daughter. We ordered migas a la mexicana and chilaquiles con chorizo and grilled fish (tilapia which did not specify what type of fish . This restaurant is not the place it used to be. The food was bland even the chorizo was also bland. The coffee was sooo watered down. Not the same quality as it once used to be. Sadly. Cus it used to be the spot to go to for some good tasting Mexican food. Also, it was a bit somewhat annoying listening to the lady yelling from her table to the employees so loud. Not everyone wants to hear the boss yell at its employees like that (not bery professional to me But i guess. Was a bid dissapointed i think we will stick to Zamoras.
