We camp at the nearby Palmetto State Park, but decided to put the camping gear aside and drive into the city for dinner. Mr. Taco was a delightful choice: it had a warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food. We ordered three dishes: I chose the tortilla soup, which featured super fresh ingredients and a rich, flavorful broth. My husband had the mole enchiladas, which had a fantastic sauce, and the chicken in the handmade tortillas was cooked to perfection. My son ordered the al pastor street tacos, which came as five small tacos on corn tortillas filled with meat, cilantro, and onion. The best word to describe this place is "authentic," as the dishes tasted like they were made from secret family recipes passed down from ancient Mexico—a refreshing change from heavy Tex-Mex food. The prices were also very reasonable! If it rains in the morning, we might just return for breakfast!
The food is fantastic! The puffy tacos are the best. We always make sure to stop there whenever we pass through Lulling.
My friend ate there last night he said the his food tasted a little off spent the night sick as a dog with food poisoning. AVOID THE PORK!!!
