Contribute FeedbackWe really like New York style pizza so we had to try Varsity when it opened, wow were we dissappointed. First, they don’t have a website so we couldn’t tell what they had for toppings, sizes or prices. I ended up calling and asking questions asking if they had a website, but they told me they don’t have one yet. How you can open a resturant without a website these days is beyond me! I did end up ordering a pizza over the phone as I was told it would take 30 minutes or more to make one. We arrived and the place was empty, I’m not sure why it takes so long to make a pizza when they aren’t busy, but I’ll move on. We ordered a half pepporoni and half Candian bacon pizza, the lady behind the counter got our pizza but had to open it to tell us which side was which as they chop the topping into small bits and then put it under the cheese. This became an issue as it was hard to keep track of which side was which and is just a stupid way of doing things. The 15 pizza with split toppings was $16! The crust was tough without much flavor and they had too much sauce that didn’t have a lot of flavor, most of the taste was from the tomato. The toppings being ground up made them disappear with the tough crust and the stinging flavor of too much tomato in the sauce. With Justine’s and Arte (formaly Puncinella’s) pizza just up and down the street I’m afraid these guys won’t be making it. By the way, I’m a hugh fan of NY style pizza and had my hopes up for an authentic pie with lots of pepperoni on top of the cheese with that tender foldable crust, but this wasn’t it.
