The restaurant is really beautiful and the service was great. If you watch fado here though you may have to deal with a large number of tourists who don't all seem to understand that it requires listening in silence. The music itself though was wonderful.
This is a great place to immerse into portuguese culture and traditions. Not only one listens to Fado but also gets in touch with some regional folklore music and dances, all in the closeness of a very typical environment of a portuguese pátio . The food is great and the staff very professional and attentive.
I love the show, true artists are presenting there, the house is always full so you need to do a reservation. I was expecting a little bit more from the food, since it is expensive, but I understand that the reason for it is the Fado show and the artist's caché.
One of the most uncomfortable evenings we had in Lisbon. The restaurant was packed with tourists, no air conditioning and the dinner was okay. No fans, no cross ventilation, no air circulation whatsoever. Slowly people started exiting to escape the heat. A few people hailed a taxi. We were packed in like sardines. Every time we asked about the air conditioning the waiter listened but nothing was done. It’s a wonder no one passed out from suffocation! My recommendation- find a different fado restaurant!
