Last minute stop, good food, good servings, very good price/quality ratio. Experience to repeat.
A gem hidden in little visited district of Lisbon, with a very local feel. It is some 10 minutes walk from the tram 28 line, near its Prazeres terminus. This restaurant serves standard Portuguese fare of very decent quality. My favourites were grilled squids (chocos grelhados and other grilled fish dishes. Grilled meat is also decent. Sometimes they serve cozido a portuguesa it is tasty but you can literally feel how it clogs your arteries, so I avoided it. What makes it remarkable are set meals served for lunch on weekdays. For 8 euros you get a soup, a fish or meat dish of your choice, typical side dishes (olives, bread, butter , a drink (half liter wine per person! , a dessert (several to choose from and coffee. Seems almost incredible, even cooking at home seems more expensive. I ate there several times during my few months stay in Lisbon and I was never disappointed, the food was always simple but tasty. If the weather is nice, it is worth staying out at their terrace.
