Parlatório is a small but cozy restaurante, steps away from the Parliament. The staff is very friendly and the food has a homely taste. The lunch meu is 11€ and includes soup, dish, desert, glass of wine and coffee. Quite rare to find such a complete menu for this price, with honest and good food.
Fantastic atmosphere defining meaning of the Family Taberna ... Meet and talk to the owner Sra Maria Joao, she will make you feel special and has story 's to share... Restourant is smoking and for me it is a big PLUS... don 't smoke, don 't go!
We arrived at 9pm and left at 1am and the fado singers were still at it, a wonderful selection of amateur and professionals. Food was distinctively portugese. We started with a sort of risotto with smoked salmon, egg and a jam like addition. Then 'acorda ' a fish stew with bread mixed in. As ever in Portugal, don 't take the cover of paste and cheese bread if you 're not ravenous as you will be charged. One posh sounding Englishman goes there for lunch every day he told us as he smoked at table (local rules apply!
