After asking around we finally found the other place and we were seated outside in this inclined area, changed 3 times the waiter was so rude and just dropped the food and the steaks came rare and not well done as he didn't listen to us. The fado was OK but the experience ruined our night!!

All I wanted was a traditional bitoque dinner, which I figured was pretty standard and hard to get wrong. But the dish was very bland and flavourless. I also found it to be quite expensive relative to various other locations around Alfama which serve the dish at a much lower cost (14 euros here vs 8-10 in other spots). The wait staff was also a bit standoffish, which made the experience quite awkward. Wouldn’t recommend this location unless you’re desperately looking to eat mediocre food late at night.

Our mixed fish platter tast... read more The attractive terrace and lovely sounds of fado called us in and the staff was friendly. But we were very disappointed by the food. Our mixed fish platter tasted as if it came directly from the microwave. The sardines were OK but the salmon and shrimps were very poor and the baccelau simply unedible. All this for way too high a price. Just come here for a drink and enjoy the music. Many restaurants nearby offer a much better deal.

The food and music was mediocre but what ruined the whole evening for me was watching one of the waiters stare at a customers breasts as she walked by and then seeing him cup his hands over his chest, smiling, to let his other waiter friend know to look at her as she walked by. The girl didn’t notice, but I was disgusted. Women do not go to restaurants to be oogled at and furthermore to have him try to bring his waiter friend into it makes it worse. After dinner I asked him for the manager to which he said there wasn’t a manager but he brought a friend who said he didn’t work there but could translate. I told him that I was disgusted by his behavior and that’s it’s not okay as calmly as I could even though I was so angry. Overall, I would definitely not recommend going to this terrible establishment with such terrible people working there, it was not worth it.
