This was our first time dining here and we were very impressed. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. A lovely pub, with a great restaurant area, old world charm, a sizeable outdoor area and great staff.

Superb Christmas Day Dinner! Everything was just perfect. Seated on time, fabulous attentive service, wonderful scallops and warm bread. The supreme of chicken was succulent and flavoursome, the roast potatoes were crisp and utterly delicious. Christmas pudding and brandy sauce was a real treat, as were the complimentary truffles to take home. The perfect Christmas Day lunch, 10/10 Wygston’s House!

Lovely spontaneous Sunday lunch here and sat in bar area as fully booked always a good sign! It was a great atmosphere. We had the 3 courses and it was all faultless. The broccoli soup was wonderful and I was delighted to have so much bread and lots of butter (HATE it when restaurants give you only 1 tiny piece). The roast beef was excellent and it was served with all the trimmings a fluffy Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and a gravy boat for each person. Staff here seemed stressed and a bit frantic at times I could see they were busy and run off their feet but it meant some guests welcomes were very stressful. A wonderful meal here for great value.

We held our wedding reception at Wygston's House on June 1st, 2024 in the beautiful function rooms upstairs. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming, similar to the vibe at The Guild Hall where we had our wedding ceremony. Holly and the team at Wygston's House were amazing. The food, organization, creativity, attention to detail, and overall care put into our reception was flawless. We highly recommend this venue for any special event.

The food was delicious and unique, a pleasant change from the usual. It appears that the restaurant has won many awards in the past. However, they have neglected the decor. This can easily be rectified if they choose to do so.

This was our first time dining here and we were very impressed. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The building is quite old, so the floors may not all be level, but wheelchair users should still be able to navigate easily. There is plenty of outdoor seating, including a charming courtyard and tables on a grassy area nearby. The menu is diverse with detailed descriptions. My husband raved about his burger, saying it was one of the best he's had in a long time. Unfortunately, I wasn't as impressed with the smoked salmon in my sandwich. Overall, I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back.

The burger we tried was absolutely delicious, with juicy meat and well-balanced salad. The side of chips was a generous portion that complemented the meal perfectly. The pasta dish was also a hit, featuring a light and fragrant sauce that was incredibly fresh. And let's not forget about the Haloumi Fries – a true standout on the menu. At £6 for 5 large fries paired with chili marmalade, they are a must-try. This pub has truly impressed us and may even be enough to make us want to revisit Leicester in the future.

We went to the restaurant with a party of 6 on Christmas Eve. The menu selection was great and the food was delicious. Some in our group thought the vegetables were undercooked, but I personally enjoyed them. The service was excellent and couldn't have been better. The atmosphere of the room was charmingly old without feeling cold. Overall, we had a great experience with delicious food, excellent service, and good value.

Theo and his team have excellent service and meals for large groups of 20 people in their fabulous restaurant upstairs. Meals were hot, tasty and good value. The service was attentive. Happy Hour until 8:00 was greeted and enjoyed. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff is great. Very recommended.

Really good local historical pub with a good choice of ales and friendly staff. Would happily come back.
