Yesterday, I tried Walla Dolla for the first time based on good recommendations. My daughter and I ordered the pepper steak, which was incredibly soft and tender. I had rice and peas while my daughter had fried dumplings. My husband ordered the oxtail with sides of dumplings, yam, banana, and fried plantain. He said it tasted just like his grandmother used to make. The prices were very reasonable and the portion sizes were generous. We will definitely be coming back.
The oxtail meal, was one of the best takeaway meals i have had in a long while. Had it with dumpling, yam, green banana and veg, just finished eating it and want to go for another portion. Also great value for money!
Love love love the food there. The oxtail by far my favorite nice, tender and flavorful! The rice beans is really good as well. Irie atmosphere just overall a good place, definitely would go back without a doubt.
A great find just 2 minutes walk from the hospital and open all day evening. Only a small place with a few tables and not much to look at, but was popular enough at lunchtime with the locals. Menu gives an indication of what 's available, but you really need to ask what the specials are for the day, and price depends on the size of the portion you order. I fancied something different for lunch and took a chance, venturing in to look at the very basic menu. A couple more folk quickly came in and while I was looking in the counter hoping to see a West Indian curry parcel or something similar to snack on, I heard both order curried goat! How could I resist. A bit bigger lunch than I was after, but it 's not often the chance arises for such a delight! Served on a massive bed of rice with a side salad garnish, the goat was very tender and not at all fatty. The curry sauce was very tasty too. A small portion £4) was more than enough for lunch, a take out box kebab fish+chip size) fully loaded. Would return to sample other dishes when in the area. If you are in search of food while visiting the hospital, turn left out of the car park and it 's just a 100 yards or so down the hill between the corner shop and deli cafe.
I spotted this restaurant while passing by on the bus every morning. Decided to give it a shot after work. I ordered curried chicken, rice and peas, lamb chops, and hard food, not to mention the festivals. Wow! The meat was incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly. The rice and peas had a delicious coconut flavor and were cooked to perfection. Definitely planning on returning!
