Thai Crystal - Lambeth
Thai Crystal
Description
Exploring Crystal Palace led me to Thai Crystal, a smaller spot on the same road as a famous Thai restaurant. While one reviewer found the food disappointing and not authentic, others praised the friendly staff, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant received high marks for hygiene and traditional decor. Despite some minor complaints about portion sizes and rice quality, most diners were pleased with their experience and considered it a must-visit Thai restaurant in the area. Whether it's a casual weeknight dinner or a special occasion, Thai Crystal seems to have something for everyone.

No thai, no thanks! the restaurant inside is good and that is where it ends. the food did not even serve it from the far Thai.Ordered massaman curry and tasted nothing like it should. yellow curry came and it was really watery, bland and not taste like a Thai curry at all. not sure what it was, cocos milk based something yellowed with curry powder!Neither of the dishes were removed sharp. Thai food that is not spicy is not thai.Duck jump roll were nice, fresh from the freeze but beautiful! overall quite expensive for the quality of the food. avoid it.
My exploration of crystal palace as part of the blogs spotlight month on the opposite, a Friday night brought me to thai crystal. I wanted to try thai to have seen the huge space that tamnag thai takes on westow hill, must be clear thai in the crystal palace I thought to be popular. after I have made some more research, although I found that the restaurant of choice for local was not tamnag, but actually thai crystal, which is a smaller place on the same road.
5 hygiene stars always a good start. Traditional Thai decor. Starters good with chicken satay and peanut sauce very tasty. My garlic and black pepper stir fry was fully of veg topped with lovely fluffy freshly deep fried tofu. He has drunken noodles which were plenty hot. We are glad this business has survived through the years. Sorry I ate all the tofu and half the veg before I took the photo!
The experience was flawless. This is by far the best Thai restaurant I have ever visited. My partner and I decided to go on a Friday evening without a reservation and were fortunate to snag a table. The food arrived promptly and was incredibly delicious. I ordered the masaman curry along with a few other dishes and I cannot recommend them enough!
Busy, clean, fast, friendly service. A bit pricey but worth it. Good sized portions, but the rice was a little small. Coconut rice tasted like plain rice with coconut shavings on top. None of the rices came with garnishes which was a bit disappointing. Pudding was good, ice cream scoops we're really sweet, but Rocky was absolutely amazing!
