Menu has variety without really surprising dishes. Speed of service is not very high but then again there is a lot to observe on the river.

Das Essen gut.Beim vorletzten Besuch war im Kartoffelgratin ein gekräuseltes Haar.Das letzte Mal wurde ich vom Kellner um 40 Euro geprellt!!! Dieser Kellner hatte sich schon einmal sich mit einem Zehner vertan, ich konnte es direkt korrigieren. Dieses mal wartete ich jedoch auf vergeblich auf mein Rückgeld. Der Kellner verwechselte einen alten Zehner mit einem alten Fünfziger.Der erste Eindruck einer abgestumpften Chefin bestätigte sich.Der Besuch verdarb mir und einem weiteren Gast ein schönes Wochenende.

Das Essen war tadello... read more Wir haben im Garten zu Abend gegessen und den traumhaften Blick auf Rhein, Rolandsbogen, Insel Nonnenwerth und das Siebengebirge genossen. Das Essen war tadellos, wir hatten u.a. Lachstartar an rote Beete, Shrimps aus der Pfanne mit Tagliatelle, Wiener Schnitzel, Mohneis und Krokanteis mit karamelisierten Nüssen. Dazu hatten wir einen vorzüglichen Riesling von Trimbach von 2012.Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, das Ambiente sehr schön! Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht, Reservierung empfohlen. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden.Jederzeit uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Arriving with the ferry from the other Rheinseite, this is the kind of restaurant where you want to go. The location is spectacular, and we had excellent Sekt as...aperitiv in the garden and a nice, pre ordered menu (with three choices for main). I had a wonderful view of the ferry, Rolandseck etc. and that alone for me would have made the evening. But contrary to some reviews here, I found the service spectacularly good. Always friendly, considered, and fast, and we were not an easy group. Because we got the food first, we waited for the red wine with our mains and one of my table mates grabbed an open bottle from the credenza nearby and served us and then apologized to the waiter, and she said with a brilliant smile that it was okay. Well, it 's not really and almost every waiter would have at least made a sourpuss or a snide remark. This is five star easily, as service was throughout, from welcome to good bye. The food? Solid, nice, friendly German dishes, one up from Ausflugsrestaurant, but not gourmet fine dining, but why should it be? that is not why we were here. Fresh salad with a nice mustard sauce ahead; excellent fresh bread with butter (on a Sunday); my main beef stew was great meat quality and the gratin actually outstanding; nice raspberry based Rote Grütze to finish. Good Sekt for aperitiv; very high quality water; excellent Grey Burgundy from the Palatinate and a regular light red for wines the four drinks free flow. All this cost us € 54.40 per person, which, given the ambiance and location, is somewhere between cheap and appropriate but certainly very price worthy. In sum, a delightful dinner. I was here for the first time, although I know the Bonn area quite well, and I would both recommend and return.
