We discovered this restaurant purely by chance last year when staying in Bloomsbury, so did not hesitate to eat here again on this year's pre festive season trip. Have to admit I think I ordered the same thing saag paneer onion bhajis as I enjoyed them so much last year. I do appreciate being able to order two small plates/side dishes as opposed to a larger main course, although my friend's main did look as though I would manage the lot! I will make a point of having something different next year, as I have no doubt we will eat here again. The gentleman we spoke to was delighted we had made a point of returning, I assured him I had written a glowing review last year would do so again after this visit. It's a small but beautifully put together dining room, with a lovely atmosphere charming people.

We were really looking forward to having a meal at the Salaam Namaste. Previous reviews had looked promising and its location was very convenient for us. The decor isn't quite the lavish affair described on their own website, in fact it all looks a bit tired. No-one was there to greet us on arrival which we thought odd. Eventually, someone turned up and we were given a table by the window which we were fine with. We ordered a couple of beers and set about looking at menu. We opted for a keralan fish curry (with lemon rice), the hyderabad biryani, scallops and some popadoms and chutneys to start. The popadoms were fine. That's where it ended. The scallops (there were three and this was a main) were over cooked and lost in the overpowering taste of the sauce. )The spicing of the biryani was completely wrong for the dish, there was very little meat and it was dry. The curry was inedible (I discovered after having one mouthful). The rice had a wedge of lemon on top as garnish, there was no infused flavour of lemon at all. We told the waiter about the curry and he said he would speak to the Chef. Nothing happened. When it came to paying, we raised the issue with the curry again and after some time, the waitress agreed to take the price of that dish off the menu. Even with that concession and the fact that we'd booked via Open Table for an early meal offer, the bill was steep. The beers were overpriced even by restaurant standards. After paying, there was a further conversation with the waitress about our experience when we told that the chef was new and didn't know what he was doing. It was a shame we hadn't been told that beforehand ...

After some difficulty, we found the Restaurant. We were looking forward to set menu of 17.00 for Vegetarian and 17.95 for Non Vegetarian. When we asked for this, we were told that it is only for Take Away. The web-site does not make it clear and we were very disappointed. The menu given was very expensive and service was poor as only one waiter was working and could not coupe. The vegetarian dishes we ordered was over charged and 12.5% service charge is not acceptable as we did not get what we wanted. The lacha paratha was very cold and they did not replace it and in the end we had to have garlic paratha. There was exceptional delays and we got very late, having started our dinner at 5.30pm. The train strike did not help. We think some honesty and transparency of the menu is required.

We visited here during a short stay to london. The food is delicious. It’s a small restaurant and super cosy. Nice if you want to escape the crowds. We did pre book as I can imagine it’s popular. Even though they haven’t officially got a kids menu this didn’t matter as our 8 year old thoroughly enjoyed trying abit of everything. The staff are really welcoming and we would definitely recommend for a tasty curry.

Nestled off the beaten path, this restaurant has become a culinary enigma, drawing varied reactions from diners. While some rave about the flavorful dishes and attentive staff, others recount disappointing experiences marred by erratic service and insufficient menu options. Complaints of strong cannabis odors and unexpected dish substitutions cast shadows on its reputation. However, a number of guests celebrate the vibrant flavors and welcoming atmosphere, praising the unique twists on traditional favorites. Although there are hiccups, the overall ambiance and culinary creativity keep patrons intrigued, making it a spot worth exploring despite its inconsistency.

Several items on the menu were unavailable, even on a Saturday evening! The food quality was extremely poor. I was served a different starter than what I ordered, and also a different main dish without explanation. I was unable to inquire about the mix-up as the waitress was completely overwhelmed. The chicken was dry and flavorless, the pilau rice was bland, and the prawns were not fresh. The only acceptable items were the poppadoms, the naan bread, and the onion bhajis. I will never return to this restaurant.

We decided to visit this restaurant while our son was sick at home and we were not disappointed. The dips, home-made poppadoms, tikka masala, and dhansak were all packed with flavor. We highly recommend a visit to this friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be returning again, especially considering the reasonable prices. Thank you for a great and delicious meal! Unfortunately, we were too busy enjoying the food to take any photos.

Average curry in our first night, so expensive for what we have, I can't recommend it, I'm afraid how had better takeaways, wein ok

Normally had good experience with this restaurant. but the home delivery was short of several items, especially rice and naan. had to spend 30 minutes cooking rice at home.

Food and service was amazing! definitely recommend to any tourist or locals. Syd was an amazing manager. 10/10 recommend!!!

After being recommended by a professional food critic, I decided to visit this restaurant. They were absolutely right - the food was delicious, fresh, and expertly prepared with just the right amount of spice. I also enjoyed trying some new dishes. I am excited to return and explore more of the excellent menu on my next visit!
