Always try to go in for a take away or a chai when I’m staying in the Heathrow for work. The first time I went into the store I was a little apprehensive, not being a Desi native nor speaking the language. However the staff were very very welcome, let me have time to choose from the menu and offer advice. Growing up in India and not being able to travel there and eat the fantastic food. What shaniakhan doesn't like about Chini Chor:
Save your hard earned money and go elsewhere. The daal makani had zero cream and was so watery, spicy and under cooked. The paneer masala was loaded with sugar. Very disappointed View all feedback.
I ordered two samosas, which were overcooked, and was given sweet tamarind sauce with them. When I asked for spicy chutney, the lady informed me that they only serve one type of sauce. I requested a split portion of both sauces for a balanced flavor, but she refused. Another lady then intervened to explain how the sauces are typically eaten. Despite my familiarity with the servers from previous visits, they were abrupt and borderline rude in their demeanor. I decided to leave the sauce behind and purchase my own from a nearby store. Their indifference and lack of customer service left a negative impression.
The food was terrible. We ordered Idly and Indo-Chinese food, but it was not fresh. The Idly had green fungus on the bottom and the noodles were lumpy and not mixed properly. We were informed that the Idly was mistakenly served even though it was not intended to be.
The food at this restaurant was truly terrible. I ordered makki roti, which was clearly not made fresh, but instead seemed to have been frozen and then reheated. The saag was also disappointing - it was watery and had a horrible taste.
