Max's Trumbull Kitchen - Hartford

I love this place! The food is always fantastic and the service was great. They were super busy--there was an event at the XL center--and it didn't take long for us to get seated or served. There was an issue with a salad coming out, and when it finally did our server let us know it would be comped off the bill. Great customer service.

Had dinner at Tumbull last night with co-workers. Our waiter was terrific and so funny! Delicious apps and entrees. Would definitely recommend and visit again when I'm in the area.

Sunday eve dinner. No other place open which is why they were so busy I guess. Waitress was very nice but overwhelmed. Took a very long time to get salad and dinner. Took over 30 minutes to get a water refill, but again, not the waitresses fault. Salad had too much of the thick and hard parts of the lettuce and not enough greens, and only three cucumber slices that were half pieces. Salad was ok...but could have been better. Ok, brick pressed chicken meal was HORRIBLE only because the bowl it was served in was full of juice/water. It was not a gravy by any means. There was so much of it that the mashed potato's were like water! Melted into the juice. Veggies were the same. The entire meal tasted like this juice...the chicken/veggies/mashed...all had the same flavor! This meal should be served on a plate, not in a bowl filled with brown juice because it totally ruined the meal.

Shocked to find that at 6 pm they were out of wine glasses! We finally got our wine but it was in a champagne glass. Just weird! And then one of our dishes came incorrectly and had to be sent back. Based on prior experience I don't know if it was an off night or if something has gone down hill. The food, once it came, was very good. They need to get their act together again!

I am a repeat customer and Trumbull Kitchen never disappoints! Everyone is so friendly and the service is top notch. There are so many amazing choices on the menu. I had the fish tacos tonight and they were legit! Crispy coating and delicious! Also tonight was 1/2 price bottle of wine night. SCORE! Overall, another fabulous dinner at Trumbull Kitchen.
