Excellent Food and wine! We came twice for the same menu and enjoyed a lot both times. The service was great. We already booked it again

Today, my girlfriend and I wanted to go for coffee at Witthüs. There were only three tables occupied outside. As we sat down at a table with four chairs near the lawn, the owner rather rudely asked us to move to a table for two in a dark corner against the wall, which we declined. He then insisted that we move, as the table was intended for a larger group and we would be detrimental to his business. I then pointed out that two other large tables also had only two people and one person sitting at them. He replied that this was his terrace, so it was his decision. We then got up and left without saying a word. It's a shame, especially since I had recommended this place to my girlfriend, who hadn't previously known Witthüs, and the situation was very embarrassing for me. Since neither of us will be returning and won't recommend Witthüs to anyone (quite the opposite), it's probably the owner's behavior that was more damaging to the business than ours. I recommend that the owner, since he's incapable of treating customers hospitably and respectfully, either take a training course in guest relations or leave customer contact to his employees. The one star is only given so I could write this review.

We went there often in the 1980s and we loved it. 40 years later, while out for a walk, we happened to plan an afternoon visit. With five adults and a small child, we were clearly not welcome. Two people had just sat down at several large tables. The staff couldn't see any way to occupy the empty two-person tables. What a shame.
