Very good food, fairly priced, amazing staff. Far away but well worth the trip. Full English breakfast is 10£
I had high expectations after reading the menu for Hash E8, but my experience fell short. When we arrived at 10am on a Saturday, there was a long queue out the door and we had to wait for over 20 minutes without being acknowledged by the staff. We ordered Pulled Pork Hash and Chorizo and Sweet Potato Hash with French Toast on the side. The Pulled Pork Hash was deliciously greasy and the crackling was a nice touch, but the Chorizo and Sweet Potato Hash was disappointing as the spinach overpowered the flavors and the poached eggs were overcooked. The French Toast was good and worth ordering. The presentation was lacking, but the interior was typical of shabby chic Dalston establishments. It was noisy and busy, even early in the morning. Overall, my experience was average and I would only go back if someone recommended it.
When I first saw the pics London the inside instagrammed from Hash E8 I got super excited. I immediately suggested we go and try it out, the very next weekend. Stat! ...They have a couple of sweet options that sound delicious (stuffed French toast! and many savoury options that sound equally tempting. They clearly also have a fondness for pig, with a piggy treat or option of adding one on nearly every dish. All music to my ears.
This place is so amazing! Understated interior and true East London community feel at this cafe. Decided to stop here for brunch and had some eggs florentine and the legendary white chocolate pancakes. The eggs florentine sauce was delicious and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The pancakes had a lot of sauce or grease floating around. Not sure if this was formerly the white chocolate which had melted but they were delicious. If you're not a fan of soggy pancakes try the savoury options! Worth a visit!
I was alerted to this delicious little cafe by an Instagram post of a delicious looking English muffin. It was love at first sight... I easily nabbed a table and ordered myself a latte. Unfortunately here your own coffee choice is filtered, so i politely declined and wondered how I would make it through the morning caffeine-free. A quick glance at the menu calmed any fears. A delicious mix of interesting flavours and different combinations litters the menu. I ordered the chorizo and sweet potato hash- a glorious mix of spinach alongside the two main ingredients, plus black pudding and eggs. Everything I wanted and more. I managed to be extremely jealous of my dining partners order- the Pig Muffin, an English muffin with sausage patty, bacon, pork belly, egg, bacon jam, cheese, hash brown and chorizo and tomato jam. Jayyysus! A heart attack in a meal- but a heart attack worth having. I love a place that provides scrumptious food that deviates from the norm. The focus on a breakfast hash in most dishes ticks this box for me. The throw back to the 60s diner style fit out is quirky and although not exactly warm, reflects the 'is exactly what it says on the tin ' nature of this new brunch hotspot.
