Bermo Kitchen - Gwynedd
Bermo Kitchen
Description
For those seeking a culinary adventure, Bermo Kitchen might not be the ideal destination. Reviews indicate disappointment in the quality of the food, with items seemingly sourced from a local grocery store. The service received mixed reviews, with some noting slow service and unfriendly staff. Despite a nice view of the sea, the lackluster food and less-than-welcoming staff may not make this a top choice for patrons. On the flip side, positive reviews praised the range of options on the menu and the delectable full English breakfast. With reasonable prices and good service, some found Bermo Kitchen to be a satisfying dining experience.

This little cafe in the centre of town is a very easy option for a goto breakfast. A lovely varied menu is on offer and between us all (a family of five) we have practically tried everything on the menu and my particular favourite is the Eggs Royale. However, I haven't been disappointed with anything I've had and my kids (in particular my fussy 6 year old) always leave a clean plate despite moaning how full they are. Coffee is the nicest I've had in Barmouth and I've been coming here for about 30 years now! Cafe is always clean and tidy and staff attentive and eager to ensure you've enjoyed your meal. Only one unisex toilet but have never had to wait for it. The fact that they allow well behaved dogs is an absolute bonus too when I want to pop in for coffee and have my dog with me. All in all I highly recommend this cafe and will go back every time I visit Barmouth
We ordered three sandwiches with salad and chips. One of the orders was not available, so we had to choose something else without receiving a refund for the price difference. The salad included only three pieces of cucumber, two cherry tomatoes, and one onion ring. We had to ask for the chips as they were not included. The table was left with dirty glasses and plates from the previous customers, and we saw food being thrown up the stairs to the kitchen. We will not be returning.
I went to this restaurant with a group of four and since we were by the seaside, we decided to order fish and chips. The staff was not exactly friendly and the service was a bit slow, despite it being quiet. The chips were frozen instead of being homemade, and the fish seemed like it may have been a pre-formed, store-bought product - it was tough and lacked flavor. I usually try to focus on the positives, but in this case, there wasn't much to praise other than the upstairs area with a view of the sea. Perhaps other dishes are better, and there appears to be a good selection of cakes for those interested. The prices were typical for a seaside spot, but I didn't feel like it was good value in this instance. Additionally, having only one unisex restroom upstairs could be an issue during busy times.
We arrived in the early afternoon and enjoyed delicious food, great service, and coffee, all at a reasonable price. We couldn't ask for more in Barmouth. Highly recommend for locals and passersby alike.
We had a couple of full English breakfasts to try the café after a recommendation however it was nothing special, not particularly good quality bacon or sausages and all distinctly average. Service was efficient but not warn or welcoming. Wouldn't bother again there are much better cafes offering breakfast at better prices.
