Zj's Cafe - Gorman
Zj's Cafe
Description
Located in a quiet corner, this restaurant offers a contrast of experiences, leaving diners divided. While some rave about perfectly cooked steaks and exceptional chicken fried steak, others lament the high prices and subpar food quality. Dishes like $46 ribeyes reportedly taste frozen, and unsatisfactory drinks raise concerns about water safety. Service can be slow due to limited staff, yet those who enjoyed the homemade pies often recommend a return visit. Ultimately, the uneven feedback suggests potential, but diners may want to tread carefully or explore other options before making a reservation.

Haven't been home in Texas in a long time. Coming here for lunch made me remember why I miss Texas. Thank you for the awesome service!
We walked in and the place stunk. We sit down and order our drinks and they tasted like straight dirt so I ask if the water is bad and if they are on a boil notice or something and they waitress told me no, so I called the city and they informed me that they were 100% on a boil water notice. After we got our bill I noticed it was $90+ for 2 adults and 2 kids. They are way over priced, $8 for a bowl or canned peaches, $13 for 4 drinks we didn’t even drink because they were so bad. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to eat!!!
The food was excellent and came out relatively quickly. There weren't many customers and only one staff member working the front, so the service was a bit slow. I would definitely return to this restaurant when I'm in the area again.
This restaurant is extremely expensive and the food is mediocre. The meat was incredibly dry and the fries were unappetizing. The odor suggested they were cooked in old oil that hadn't been changed in weeks. I would not recommend eating here, it is not worth it. I would have preferred to eat an Allsup's burrito instead.
