A group of four behind us eventu... read more Upon entering, we noticed no one was at the hostess stand and waited for about 10 minutes (possibly longer) to be acknowledged. A group of four behind us eventually left, as it seemed no one was coming to seat them. A simple wave from staff would have indicated that they were aware of our presence. We understand that the restaurant may be short-staffed, but it would take just a moment to acknowledge waiting customers. When we were finally seated, our waitress (who had lovely red hair) was delightful and apologized for the wait. We ordered two drinks from the bar, but when she returned, she informed us that the bar was busy. We noticed there were only five people at the bar, and approximately 20 patrons already dining. Our entrees arrived, but we were still without our drinks. They eventually arrived a few minutes later, during which time our waitress had also brought us some bread to tide us over. Unfortunately, my wife’s ribs were overcooked and incredibly dry. At the end of our meal, when the waitress asked how everything was, we showed her the ribs. There was no follow-up, like one might expect after a meal is served. She offered to replace them, but by then everyone else had finished their meals. Instead, she kindly suggested taking the ribs off the bill. The rest of our food was decent but quite comparable to chain restaurants like Chili's or Applebee’s—it filled us up but wasn’t anything extraordinary. To top it all off, we expected some acknowledgment of our complaints from a manager, such as an apology for the wait time, the delay with our drinks, and the quality of the ribs. Just a few moments to address these issues would have gone a long way. It was clear that our wonderful waitress was doing her best in a challenging situation, and she shouldn’t have been placed in that position.
