Hilltop Hitching Post - Marion
Hilltop Hitching Post
Description
Tucked into Marion with an attached motel and free parking, this roadside bar-restaurant serves tasty, reasonably priced fare—classic burgers and memorable daily specials—popular with locals, bikers heading toward Glacier and travelers. Many praise clean rooms, cold beer and a welcoming, casual vibe, but experiences vary: service can be exceptionally friendly or slow and inattentive, and there have been isolated issues with ID checks, parking disputes and occasional rowdiness. A solid casual stop if you accept some inconsistency in hospitality.

This is a fantastic motel and bar/restaurant to visit if you're traveling through the area. It's an ideal stop for bikers heading to Glacier National Park. The staff is excellent, the food is tasty, the beer is great, and the prices are reasonable.
The bar was charming and cozy, and the chicken-fried steak with gravy was fantastic. However, we booked our stay on a day when the temperature reached 99 degrees, and unfortunately, our room had no air conditioning. Upon checking in, we turned both fans on full blast, but it remained unbearably hot in the motel room until 1 AM. It was hotter than one could imagine—almost boiling! We even had the window open to try to cool things down, but it was still uncomfortable. Rooms: far too hot.
Great service and the burgers were delicious! We stayed at the motel, and the bed was very comfortable. Just a heads up: avoid the buck shooting game; it’s a total rip-off!
I love visiting this place anytime I come to Marion. Our lake house is right down the road from the hitching Post and we love eating here.Update from 6/12/24.The special for the day was “Grilled cheese sandwich with jalapeño poppers and bacon”.It’s off the chart good! Keep serving this please!!Our waitress was Kalea and she was not only amazing but helpful as well.Thank you all at Hilltop!
