Schwarzer Bar - Erlangen

This restaurant is very good and has a good prices. I strongly sugest to try "Schweineschaufele, with sauerkraude. Wonderful. Keller bier is also very good there.

Recomended - we had traditional german food - schwein und rostie kartoffel and good local beer and wine - 4 of 5 scoores..

I had a Frankonian wedding soup as a starter - ok but nothing special. The duck as a main course was good. The dessert - chocolate mousse - tasted uninteresting.

Ended up visiting this restaurant by chance as everywhere was full up due to Christmas parties, lucky our hotel managed to squeeze us in here on an early table. Didn't consider it originally as it doesn't list as highly as others on trip advisor.All I can say is the food is excellent. We ordered the deer carpaccio and a salad to start and they were both unbelievably tasty! Followed by paprika schnitzel and venison steak - again excellent!All coupled with lovely Pilsner, traditional and cosy interiors with a lovely atmosphere as well as extremely good service (especially considering we couldn't speak any German!)Only thing to be wary of is it relatively pricey but for us it was worth it as it was the best meals we've had in a long time!

This is an upmarket-ish restaurant which serves local traditional food to very high standards. it has an excellent game menu and excellent service. It is not the type of place for a one hour meal but rather for long lingering meal. It is very popular with the largest local employer, Siemens, when entertaining their clients - especially those from abroad who want to sample the local cuisine.
