The food arrived and was lovely, then ordered a sweet ice cream) which took about 25 mins to be served, when it was it was served in a glass dish still hot from the dishwasher, so the ice cream was melting and difficult to eat/drink as it was served with a soup spoon in a small glass bowl. When trying to pay there was no one whatsoever, got fed up waiting so went to the bar to pay, where after another 10 minute wait with no one there, was just about to walk out when someone turned up apologising that it was busy...please sort out the staffing levels as a lovely meal spoiled only by the service, will be a long time before I am back!

The rotisserie chicken is their speciality and they are cooked on the premises, and as always ours were perfect. The salad bar was well stocked with fresh tasty food. We both enjoyed our meals. Aimii took our order in a pleasant manner and Alfie took the payment. We noted the friendly nature of the staff and good teamwork with Tristan the manager. Thanks for another good meal. The salmon with chive mash was tasteless and the ratatouille was unimpressive. My husband and son had the chicken combo which was burnt and came with soggy chips. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

We’ve been here many times before and always had good food and a pleasant evening. This time was no different! We had to call on the way to let them know we wer... read more We’ve been here many times before and always had good food and a pleasant evening. This time was no different! We had to call on the way to let them know we were stuck in traffic and they were very understanding and agreed to hold our table top we arrived. Staff were very friendly and welcoming when we did arrive and quickly had us settled in at a table right next to a radiator which was a godsend for me; I am always cold and it was -2 outside and didn’t fancy shivering my way through the meal. I had the mega mixed grill and my OH had the ultimate combo. When they were brought out, we were amazed at the size of the plates, which were full! They were more like serving plates, than dinner plates. Although my OH managed all of his, I could only manage just over half of mine, there was so much there. But they gave us a box to take the rest of the meat home to our very excited Labrador. The prices were pretty good anyway but with 20% Blue Light discount, was definitely fantastic value for money. The only thing that wasn’t so great, and is often the same with just 2 people, the tables are so small it just feels too cramped. This time it was worse as the plates were so much bigger than normal which meant they were basically touching each other and also reaching the edge nearest to us. Other than that, it was a lovely meal and we will go back again.

Our server was brilliant and ever so helpful, despite the busyness of the place! However, what brought the experience down was the rudeness from other staff. I understand that it was very busy, but staff pushed past us and other members of the public a few times. When I preempted our paths crossing and waited, having already been pushed past, staff didn't say thank you or even make mild eye contact. The only other thing I take issue with is the app we were advised to use. It's a good idea, but when placing a gluten-free filter on food, nothing came up. I had to bother our server, who was doing he best to keep everyone happy, and ask about gluten-free options. However, a second visit here was a very different experience! Kathy, who waited our table, was absolutely outstanding. It was a much more satisfying visit, and a more pleasant one! Fairly large car park, and parking is free. However, make sure you put in your license plate at the entrance to register, otherwise you will be ticketed as it's a private car park. Overall, it is a mixed dining experience.
