Description

Nestled in the picturesque seaside town of Sidmouth, Dukes offers a blend of stylish ambiance and cozy comfort. Diners are greeted warmly before sampling a diverse menu featuring dishes from succulent steaks to flavorful seafood. While many praise the quality of the food and efficient service, some customers have experienced inconsistencies with cooking temperatures and portion sizes. The establishment is notably dog-friendly, setting the stage for a relaxed meal. Although opinions vary, and there have been reports of management oversight and payment issues, overall, Dukes presents a dining option worth considering for visitors to the area.

I'm happy we made a reservation as this restaurant seemed to be quite popular. The menu offers a variety of dishes to cater to different tastes, and the prices are reasonable. We visited on a Thursday night, which happens to be curry night, and we even got a free dessert.

We visited this restaurant over the bank holiday weekend. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance, but we managed to get a table without one. We did have to wait for an hour for the kitchen to prepare the next batch of food, but we understood the delay. The highlight of our meal was the delicious Seafood Chowder. However, the rest of the dishes were just average.

Management non existent and very slow service. No one seemed to be in charge and they had two people guarding the entrance and not nearly enough serving customers.

Went for an impromptu lunch with girlfriends, we weren't disappointed. I had the plaice off of the specials menu, friends had salmon. The service was prompt and the food was presented well. My meal was very tasty. I even had a naughty chocolate bread and butter pudding which was also tasty. Washed it all down with a cheeky glass of prosecco. The ladies room was clean with plenty of soap and hot water. I will be returning to Dukes. Service: 5

Food wasn't great. Crab sandwich had big bits of shell in and was really gritty and generally of poor quality. Sent it back and wasn't offered any apology or substitute sandwich so the service was lacking and I was left feeling pretty hungry. Partners salad was bland and tasteless. Unfortunately wouldnt return or recommend. Service: 2 Location: 4
