During our two-week holiday in sunny Dunshaughlin in October 2019, my family and I from Mobile, Alabama, faced the delightful challenge of choosing where to eat... read more During our two-week holiday in sunny Dunshaughlin in October 2019, my family and I from Mobile, Alabama, faced the delightful challenge of choosing where to eat after a day of sunbathing. We narrowed it down to a traditional Irish bar called the Shed Bin or Macari’s Diner. We chose Macari’s Diner, and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like VIPs. The lady behind the counter greeted us warmly with a “Good evening, m’Sir” and showed us to the best seat in the house—right next to the restroom, which was perfect for our family. The menu was extensive, healthy, and offered great value. Our waitress kindly explained the options, and after some thought, I ordered five battered sausages and a large portion of chips—the Irish term for French fries. I also had a liter of Coca-Cola, which I was happy to find was widely available in Dunshaughlin. The food was top-notch, easily the best meal we had during our stay. We returned every evening for dinner, enjoying the short walk from Dunshaughlin’s beautiful park—a true highlight of the town. I can’t say enough good things about Macari’s Diner. This place holds a special spot in our hearts, and I still crave their Double Deluxe burger. I highly recommend trying their small or large chips, chicken nuggets, sausages, battered sausages, chicken fillet kebab, garlic cheese chips, curry chips, snack box, lunch box, family box, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double-decker burgers, onion rings, smoked cod, and fresh cod. If I had to rate Macari’s Diner out of 100, it’d be a perfect 100—no points deducted. I’d definitely visit if they ever opened a branch back in Mobile, Alabama. A huge thank you to Macari’s Diner for making our family’s visit to Dunshaughlin so memorable. We look forward to coming back!
