The milkshake I had at this restaurant was the worst I've ever had. When I asked if they had raspberry milkshakes, they said no but suggested a mixed berry option that included raspberry. Unfortunately, what I received was a glass of purple, sour concoction filled with unpleasant bits. Instead of a creamy milkshake, it was more like frozen mixed berries blended with milk, resulting in a curdled and undrinkable mess. When I raised my concerns, I was simply told that's how they make their milkshakes and no refund was offered. I only took a sip before realizing how awful it was, and did not receive any compensation for my £3.80 purchase.
Lovely little coffee shop set in a rural small-business yard. Excellent staff inside, with a comical order-and-pay system involving stereophonic ladies either side of the room. Tables outside spread across the gravel forecourt in the midst of peaceful countryside. Good coffee too.
I just found out about this restaurant today, despite living nearby for many years. I had chickpea soup accompanied by three varieties of delicious Hobbs bread with butter. It was absolutely delicious! For dessert, I had affogato ice cream with espresso poured over it, which was excellent. It wasn't listed on the menu, but I requested it and they were able to make it for me. The staff was hardworking and friendly. I will definitely be returning soon.
Absolutely gorgeous cafe ! I have been here twice on my bike and then brought my parents in the car. Fabulous cakes , coffee and yummy sandwiches. Really nice gifts and cards. This is a great spot fir cyclists as not only are the routes around there beautiful and undulating but Planks welcome cyclists and have invested in an excellent bike rack so if you have a precious bike you don’t have to park it against everyone else’s. Their staff are an absolute credit to them
