Description

Nestled in Denver's highlands, Field Trip offers a Hawaiian-themed bar experience with a vibrant patio atmosphere ideal for socializing. The drink selection impresses, particularly the daiquiris of the day. However, the food presents a mixed bag; while some dishes like katsu sliders and Huli Huli chicken receive praise for flavor and decent portion sizes, others like burnt ends and bland sides fall short of expectations. Service can lag during peak times, and dog policies on the terrace might deter pet owners. While it's a fun spot for drinks, diners seeking authentic Hawaiian cuisine should explore other options.

TheGarden is beautiful, and the beer and drink selection is impressive. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend trying the musubi and loco moco!

**Beverages:** The drink selection is decent and comparable to similar places. The beer was crisp, clean, and served cold—no complaints there. **Food:** I tried the rolls, which were good, served with three sauces that were difficult to differentiate, other than the one I think was BBQ sauce. The burnt ends were disappointing; they seemed undercooked and could have benefited from an extra hour or two of smoking. They lacked the crispy, charred texture I enjoy. However, I did appreciate the macaroni that came with the dish. **Patio Atmosphere:** The huge terrace offers a variety of seating options, creating a cool layout that feels very much like a backyard setting. They have plenty of heaters, but I think they could use more sunshades. **Service:** The servers were decent, but the kitchen was slow during peak times. I think I'll stick to drinks and light appetizers in the future. One major drawback for me is that after 3 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, they do not allow dogs on the main terrace. While I understand the reasoning, I wish the cutoff were at 5 PM. I enjoy taking my dog out for a late lunch or early dinner after the lunch rush, and this policy makes it difficult. They reportedly allow dogs at any time on the street terrace, but it’s not very visible from the main restaurant. I also imagine the service and atmosphere there wouldn’t compare to the main area, as it lacks the music and lively crowd.

I ordered delivery because the menu caught my eye. The katsu sliders were fantastic! The sides, like the Brussels sprouts and the mac salad, were packed with flavor and very well prepared. The salad was great as well. It is a bit pricey for the portion sizes, but the quality of the food makes it worth it.

Food was not the best. If you’ve had real Hawaiian food I do not recommend this place. Everything tasted horrible. The rice was burned on my dish and there was something in the sliders that literally burned my nose because of how strong the taste was. Only good thing here are the drinks so if drinking and socializing is your thing then this is the place but do NOT get food here. Your stomach will be growling at you for the next few days. Go to L L instead. Trust me, they are AUTHENTIC hawaiian food.
