The service and food were fantastic! The staff member who assisted us was friendly and courteous to all the guests, and the portions were generous and delicious. Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience!
El Chalate is a go-to lunch spot for me in the Denver area. It's hard to find a place where you can enjoy a hearty, authentic meal for under $10 these days, especially with many of those options disappearing from the local food scene. However, El Chalate remains a reliable establishment for working people, offering a menu that includes pupusas, tacos, enchiladas, chile relleno, burritos, and more. My personal favorite is the #1 combination you can see in the photo. It’s perfect for me because I get to enjoy a chile relleno, a beef burrito, and a cheese enchilada all in one order. The flavor of the ground beef is quite unique and savory, and I absolutely love the cheese they use in their enchiladas. So good! If you're in East Denver and looking for affordable Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine, definitely check this place out!
The worst pupusas I've ever had! I wouldn't recommend this place; everything seemed overcooked and not freshly prepared at all!
Low quality pupusas. Barley any cheese! in a pupusa it was all bean and chicharon! so they weren't good. But my opinion very low quality I definetly have had better ones at pupusa house on iliff and chambers worth it! you actully see cheese ?
