It's hard to find a place where you can enjoy a hearty, authentic meal for under $10 these days, especially with many of those options disappearing from the local food scene. However, El Chalate remains a reliable establishment for working people, offering a menu that includes pupusas, tacos, enchiladas, chile relleno, burritos, and more. My personal favorite is the #1 combination you can see in the photo. It’s perfect for me because I get to enjoy a chile relleno, a beef burrito, and a cheese enchilada all in one order. The flavor of the ground beef is quite unique and savory, and I absolutely love the cheese they use in their enchiladas. So good! If you're in East Denver and looking for affordable Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine, definitely check this place out!
