Was Clay Hillenburg at Chook a mag?
I flat out love this place. The beets and berries salad with chicken is probably the best salad in all of Denver. They also have great side options (I highly recommend the mixed vegetables) and the staff is very friendly. Everything is priced just where it should be. Overall, one of the best values in town. What Vadim M dislikes about Chook:
Overall, the place has a cafeteria vibe, but it does offer some healthier food choices. There's a bit of a disconnect between the predominant Australian theme and the Mediterranean options on the menu. One standout feature is the availability of free parking, in addition to street parking, which is a definite plus. As for vegetarian options, the Mediterranean dishes, especially the falafel, were quite good. View all feedback.
I was really saddened to learn that the Stanley location closed, but I didn't think it was too far to visit this new spot. I was excited to indulge in their delicious chicken and sides. Unfortunately, I ended up feeling quite disappointed, as the quality of the food at this location was not up to par with what I remember from the previous one. The chicken soup was missing the delightful smokiness I expected, the salad, which was supposed to feature a homemade vinaigrette, tasted bitter and overly oily, and the sandwich was, at best, mediocre. It definitely didn't feel worth the money we spent. That said, the apple slaw was excellent, and the bone-in chicken was very tasty. I’m not sure why there is such inconsistency with the food, but I left feeling a bit let down and unsure if I would return.

Highly impressed! Everything was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. I’m definitely looking forward to returning and exploring the rest of the menu!

Chicken was dry as a mummy's toenails and burnt. I felt like Mark Morrison, the way I wanted to Return the Mac. No cheese sauce! Potatoes were also burnt and looked more like home fries than wedges. Everything was offensively bland and of poor quality, but not cheap. It was a worse quality to price ratio than airport newsstand food.
