We had walked pas... read more We were invited by a French (boating) neighbour to join him for drinks at L'Ecrivin a short walk from the marina at Decize (Port du Jonction). We had walked past this place several times when going into Decize but had never ventured in when it had been open. What a pleasant surprise. The owner was very courteous and friendly and even spoke a little English, which he was keen to demonstrate. Apparently he also speaks some Dutch & German (he used to be a teacher). The wines were quite well priced by the glass (loved the chardonnay!) and it was nice to sit outside and sample a few reds and whites. Later we had a simple but pleasant charcuterie the food being exceptionally cheaply priced. Understand they have various art functions and there is even a small art cinema upstairs. Adjacent to the River Loire and opposite the old town of Decize. Seating outside can be a bit noisy due to traffic on bridge. More of a wine bar than a restaurant.We would not hesitate to call in again and also recommend to others

Par ailleurs la nourriture proposee est généreuse et bon marché. Enfin, si vous aimez la littérature, il y a semble-t il un auteur qui est présenté tous les 2 ou 3 mois. En ce moment, c'est Antoine Blondin, nous ne connaissions pas mais l'exposition était sympa. A recommander à Decize, l'idée de ce bistrot littéraire est originale et à retenir. x
