Flatiron Kitchen Taphouse - Davidson

Once again Flatiron was flawless! Food was superb, service spot on, prices very reasonable. It's our new Saturday night spot!

My first visit but definitely won't be my last. Visited for lunch and had the roasted turkey melt. It was delicious and the flavors on the sandwich went so well together.

Nice ambience. The flavor of the food was acceptable. The portions were extremely light for a $26 meal that my husband had. He ordered shrimp and grits and only had five shrimp and one ladle scoop of grits. We spoke with the manager and also the waitress. They were willing to give us more grits but with an additional charge. The manager cited it was because of the inflationary costs were causing them to scale back on the portions. In my humble opinion the meal should?ve been priced at $12-$18. My chicken and risotto meal was supposed to come with chicken breast and mashed potatoes and it only came with a small to medium size chicken in bone and risotto. It was missing mashed potatoes and I needed to inquire with the waitress. No apology was said that the chef left off a side dish that was included in my meal. It was very disappointing on my birthday to go to a place that I?ve always wanted to go to for 12 years and find that they are skimpy on their portions.

I can't begin to say enough about how delicious our first visit to Flatiron was. Everything about the place-the super friendly and knowledgeable bartenders, the overall ambiance and the unbelievably great food was excellent. We tried several appetizers which were all tasty. The brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and seasoned nicely. TRY THE PRETZELS!!! They were served with two dipping options; both delicious. I had a caesar salad with added blackened salmon. The salmon was perfect, the dressing excellent and greens were fresh and crisp. My husband had the scallops-there were four big scallops that were cooked to perfection. Oh....the hand cut fries are to die for-get the truffle seasoning and you will be addicted. They have a nice, well rounded wine list and craft beer selection. The bar is vibrant and the location in the heart of Davidson makes this our new go-to spot!

Eating was very good. the service was fast. had a glass of wine that was very nice. would go back.
