We were nearly stuffed when the main course, pasta with frutti di mare, started... Giuseppe, the owner, and his whole family tried to fulfill every of our wishes and we had to follow them into the kitchen to choose our main course. It was a really delicious experience. If you visit this restaurant, come with an empty stomach! You will really enjoy it!! Giuseppe and his family are perfect hosts.

The food was OK, but the service lacking, possibly because of our rudimentary Italian. If you are not fluent, don’t go here.

Our hostess, Ada, recommended that we try out this place fo... read more Locanda Riccomaggio is a real find! We were staying at b&b DonnaGiulia in Cursi for the second time. Our hostess, Ada, recommended that we try out this place for lunch. She told us that the portions were very generous and all are home cooked. The restaurant is located on a back road outside the village of Cursi. We used our GPS and kept our eyes peeled for signs that showed the direction. We didn't know enough to order only one item. Instead we the apetizer, primo and secondo and without exaggeration, it would have easily fed 5 people! Afterwards the owners son took us around the property showing us all the items that they grow and use in the restaurant. Before leaving he picked a bag full of oranges and lemons for us. We recommend this place highly!!

The staff had limited English but this didn 't seem to matter as they seemed glad to see us . There was four of us so they brought us a great selection of little dishes for the antipasti vegetables selection including , egg plant , cheese, and fish small fish whitebait and what looked like fresh sardines but were delicious fried in light batter and breadcrumbs . The prima course followed with a large selection of seafood and pasta, silver served by the waiter this included mussels , clams , and king prawns in a rich tomato sauce, to which my friend 'commented the food just keeps on coming ', The local Rose wine was excellent and accompanied seafood wonderfully . We were all agreed this was fantastic meal experience and very reasonably priced, truly a hidden gem of a restaurant . The best bit was when we discovered they didn 't accept credit cards and even though we were short some Euros , the owner trusted us to return two days later, which we did to give him the balance . That would never happen in many parts of the world If your in the area you must visit this restaurant on the outskirts of Cursi free parking outside. Better to book in advance closed Mondays
