Our server was excellent. I have an allergy of which the server was very mindful. Recommendations for the food and wine were perfect. This is our favorite restaurant and we drive 150 miles for a dinner at CR’s. View all feedback.
What Rick doesn't like about Cr's The Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews:
Party of 4 1 filet ordered with no sauce Came with sauce They took it washed it and probably micro waved it. Dry and un edible, when it came back. Pork chop was raw in center sent back. Again nuked because it came back too fast. The chicken piccata was tasty, noodles simple boxed. The waitress was annoyed with us. The kitchen screwed up. Not us. Best part of our meal was the bread. 18$ Calamari was all breading. They were nice enough to take it off the bill. Seared tuna entree was a disaster 38$ Halibut was eh $36 Staff was delightful. CRs needs to take a good hard look at current kitchen/ chef. We wish them luck
I wish the food was better as the atmosphere is lovely. However, I went on a busy night and sat at the bar. It was quite full with mostly couples. The bartender looked at me and didn 't bring me a placemat and setting or a menu or ask if I wanted a drink. I waited and waited ....and waited. The bartender kept giving me a swiping glance, but still nothing. About 10 minutes went by and a young couple came in to sit at the bar and got served place settings and waters right away and was asked what they wanted to drink. The man sitting next to me, part of a couple, leaned over and said, You are being VERY patient! I said, no I 'm not; leaving. Having said that, when CRs was Bonta the food was inconsistent like CRs menu but food used to have much better quality at Bonta than CRs. Again, too bad as its a lovely location close to home and I 'd probably would frequent the place once or twice a month. Too bad!
Superb meal for 4! Great atmosphere and service! We will definitely be back.
Arrived just 10 mins before opening. Was told by manager that he restaurant wasn't open and I could read the menu posted outside. Just a few minutes later, an older couple walked up to the front door. The manager immediately opened the door and let them inside. I made a comment that I had to wait outside, but these people could come in before the restaurant opened? The man coming in mentioned that the manager knew him so that's why. So, a potential customer is me to wait outside? This had to be one of the most rude experiences I have had with a restaurant. I sat at the bar, and mentioned what happened to the bartender and she said that they hadn't opened yet. I mentioned that it still wasn't 4pm so it's the fact that the manager was willing to let these people in before the restaurant open, but not me. She walked away, and then I just decided to leave. If standard etiquette and kindness is not on the menu, I don't want whatever else they serve. Also, I could only imagine the service would be worse, as I would probably be made to wait longer than these two people who came after me.
Arrived 10 to 4:00 and wasn't allowed inside until a few minutes later an older couple came and was allowed inside. I made a comment and the gentleman mentioned the person recognized him. As a local, this is a great way to lose business. I live about 10 minutes away and was excited to try this restaurant for the first time. I will definitely not be back considering this horrific customer service.
