We sat upstairs, there was a TV with the Simpsons. Ambiance wasn't what we were looking for in a beautiful place at the north end. Go somewhere else.

(It’s a 5 minute walk from the Hay... read more My wife and I, and three guests, ate an early dinner at LoConte’s on Sunday, June 2d, after a show at the Boston Opera House. (It’s a 5 minute walk from the Haymarket parking garage. Having spent two weeks in Italy in early May, I am delighted to say that the food and the service at LoConte’s is on par with any, and better than most, of the wonderful restaurants we recently visited in Italy. Over the years we have been invited to eat at other restaurants good restaurants in the North End, but when it’s our choice, we choose LoConte’s. They make you feel welcome and the food service are great.

The only downside is that they only have a beer and wine license, which may be a concern for some.
