Description

A beloved neighborhood Chinese run by a generous husband-and-wife team, this Rhode Island spot is celebrated for excellent, affordable food, generous portions and a spotless kitchen. Regulars praise General Tso, lo mein, crab rangoon and special-order duck; staff routinely accommodate dietary requests and deliver to the Cranston metro. A few diners report greasy or overcooked dishes and an occasionally brusque, rushed manager, so service and consistency can vary. Despite that, many locals call it a top pick for reliable, flavorful Chinese fare.

The food is fantastic, largely thanks to the husband of the woman managing the restaurant. However, the lady herself tends to be quite rushed and has a rather arrogant demeanor. If anything were to jeopardize this establishment, it would be her impatience and condescending attitude toward some customers, along with her tendency to raise her voice at her husband. She's adopted an inflated sense of her own importance, which could be problematic.

The owners are incredibly kind. I've been dining here for many years, and the food is always excellent. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable.

This is probably the worst Chinese food I've ever experienced! The orange chicken had more breading than meat, was lacking in flavor, and had a smell reminiscent of burnt popcorn due to overcooked orange peels. The egg rolls were excessively oily, and the duck sauce tasted like apple pie filling—definitely strange. The charred beef teriyaki and even the pork fried rice were disappointing. The chicken fingers had an overpowering oil flavor. I couldn’t even finish more than a few bites of the meal! I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The fortune cookie was the highlight of the dining experience.
