Description

Riverview Kitchen offers a beautiful setting by the river for a family breakfast, with friendly staff and lovely hash browns and sausage. However, some diners were disappointed with overcooked, dry bacon. Despite its usual stellar reputation, one reviewer felt let down by a change in seating policy. Another diner with coeliac disease experienced multiple issues with cross-contamination despite being assured otherwise. While the food was delicious, the rushed atmosphere at peak times left some feeling stressed. However, the large portions and lovely view make it a must-visit spot in Durham for pancakes and excellent service.

If you are in search of a delicious meal, this is a great choice. I ordered the goat cheese sandwich and enjoyed it so much that I ended up ordering a second pot of tea.

I stopped by without a reservation and the restaurant was bustling. I was able to sit outside, which was nice. I received complimentary coffee and a large piece of delicious, moist carrot cake. The service was fast and friendly.

I absolutely adore this place! I visit frequently because the food is fabulous and the location by the river is just lovely. My go-to dishes are the Eton mess pancakes or the veggie breakfast wrap, which are always delicious. Despite the fact that it is always bustling with students on both weekdays and weekends, I've noticed that the wait is typically not too long.

Recieved the wrong order and told to order again which means I loose delivery fee and service charge. honestly do better.

This cafe offers more than just a meal; it's an experience nestled in the heart of the city by the river. The scenic view alone makes it worth a visit, but it's the brunch menu that steals the show. Their specialty? Massive stacks of pancakes that come in two sizes: two stacks or four stacks. Trust me, go for the two stacks if you're dining solo; the four stacks are a challenge even for the hungriest brunch enthusiasts! My friend and I opted for four stacks each, and we were not disappointed. I indulged in the chocolate indulgence pancakes, which were heavenly, while my friend savored the Banoffee pie pancakes. Both were incredibly delicious. To complement our meal, I enjoyed an oat flat white that hit all the right notes. One thing to note is that while the ambiance is welcoming and child-friendly, accessibility might be an issue for some as the cafe is only accessible by walking down stairs on the side of the bridge. Overall, Riverview Kitchen offers a delightful brunch experience with picturesque views, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for any morning outing.
