Jamila's Kitchen Grill - Coquitlam
Jamila's Kitchen Grill
Description
Jamila’s Kitchen presents a diverse menu, featuring Indian, Afghan, and Greek cuisines, drawing both fans and skeptics. While some diners rave about the flavorful Lamb Qabuli Palaw and thick, saucy curries, others express disappointment over poorly prepared Indian dishes and lackluster Greek offerings. Consistency appears to be a theme, with many praising the restaurant’s friendly service and organized takeout, while complaints about food quality and missed requests surface from others. Despite the mixed reviews, Jamila's is often hailed as a hidden gem, making it worth a try for adventurous eaters seeking culinary variety at a fair price.

I can't rate the atmosphere because I haven't been inside yet, but I have been ordering from Jamilas for about 2 years now and I can't remember ever having a bad meal. Every order is always correct and includes all the condiments, and the food is always delicious and hot! Whether you're in the mood for Greek, Afghan, or Indian cuisine, everything is excellent. I have tried the pizzas, lamb, chicken, and the sauce is truly the best! If you're looking for a cool dessert to finish off your meal, I recommend trying the Ras Malai. It's light, sweet, and savory, the perfect way to end a delicious meal.
This restaurant is a hidden gem with absolutely delicious food at a great value. The staff is really friendly and only uses the best ingredients. It's a must try with 10 thumbs up!
I can’t comment about the service or atmosphere because I ordered through UberEats. But the food was some of the worst food we’ve had. The calamari was AWFUL! I don’t even know if it was calamari, it didn’t even look like calamari. It was mushy and didn’t even taste or have the shape of calamari. The veggie samosas tasted re-heated. The butter chicken “soup” was edible but it was mid at best. They didn’t follow basic requests (no onions on the calamari and no olives in the Greek salad, which also came with no dressing and was basically a cucumber/onion salad, maybe one chunk of tomato) The rice and potatoes in the souvlaki meal were tasteless. Most of it went in the garbage. Save your money people!!
I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could. We've ordered Indian dishes and Greek dishes here and both are our favourites. Best menu and outstanding quality food. The hardest part is deciding what to order. It's all so yummy!
Got the prawn souvlaki for lunch and the portion was pretty large, definitely worth the price portion wise. However what turned me off the meal was that the prawns were too salty, even when eating it with the rice and pita bread. My coworker got the chicken and said theirs was good so Hopefully the salt was just a one time thing.
