Pumachug - Clawson
Pumachug
Description
This Clawson bistro serves inventive comfort food and a strong beer and cocktail program in a casual, patio-friendly setting. Standouts include poutine, brussels sprouts, macs and crispy appetizers, but execution is uneven—some dishes arrive undercooked, lukewarm or bland. Service ranges from warm and attentive to slow and inattentive, and availability of menu items and gluten-friendly options can be limited. When the kitchen and staff click it’s delightful; when they don’t, the experience falls short. Best for those who enjoy relaxed group meals and craft drinks—and have patience.

This place is fantastic! Ken, the general manager, came by our table for a nice chat. The food is excellent—I had the Brussels sprouts, the sticky chicken sandwich, and the chili. They also have an impressive selection of beer.
I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. The food was incredible and the drinks were delightful. Our server, Chantell, made the experience even more enjoyable with her knowledge and cheerful demeanor. She was truly a delight!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and found it to be a charming spot, although it could use some finishing touches on the interior decor. The service was a bit slow but very welcoming. We dined as a large group and tried a variety of dishes. The standout items were the ENC pork mac and the sandwich. However, I was disappointed to find that there wasn't much difference between the carbonara mac and the regular mac. The sweet potato fries were enormous and delicious, while the chicken sandwich was just average and the fries were quite good. We also ordered cauliflower wings and pizza rolls as appetizers, which were fantastic—probably the best dishes of the meal. Overall, it's a solid place to eat.
Have been here a few times... every time has been underwhelming to disappointing. The last visit consisted of me ordering a pizza, a beer, and some fries. My girlfriend ordered a salad... every item with the exception of the beer came out lukewarm and unseasoned. After sending the fries back and muscling through a bland pizza, the $55 bill was kind of a kick in the n*ts. Won't be back.
Excited to see what the new chef will feed me next. Local, honest food served in a bistro style. I’d love more gluten friendly options in the future. Beef fat fries are the only fries I crave. Poutine is refined and divine, do add the local smoked pork. Truffled with parm? Heavenly bougie binge.
