Special thanks to the manager Sebastian encouraging a rather higher than normal wine spend. Real skill! and it was delicious! For sure we'll return the next time we are in St.Albans

The staff are lovely , the starters nice , not as nice as other primes but nice the steak sandwich inedible the ciabatta was hard and burned the steak not great... read more The staff are lovely , the starters nice , not as nice as other primes but nice the steak sandwich inedible the ciabatta was hard and burned the steak not great and the filling of tomato and lettuce was not the freshest sadly i will not be returning having just moved to the area this would have been our familys go to and meeting friends go to ,,We used the one in beaconsfield al the time and lovely experience food always fantastic ,But ill be giving the stalbans ine a very wide berth absolutley the worst sandwich i have ever had my friend had the same and her ciabatta was rock hard and black lines inside and out dreadful

Wouldn’t recommend. Our first visit here for an anniversary meal and our expectations were too high. Expecting top end steak but it was average pub grub. Our starters were chewy (pepper squid) which came in a huge paper bag, presentation lacking. Our other starter, scallops came in a pasta bowl and was rather dry. Our main, the sharing tomahawk steak wasn’t cooked as we had asked (medium to marble the fat). It was a really chewy cut of meat. The steak knives we were given were blunt and had to request replacements. Perhaps we had an one off bad experience compared to others….. the atmosphere and decor was great, the front of house team were very attentive but the food is under par.
