Went here recently for a date night. It was a mixed bag, but generally positive. Our waiter brought out some bread, which was delicious. The butter was very sweet. The menu said an additional serving would be $3, but we ordered it anyway. For ourappetizer, we had the pork belly and the pork shrimp dumplings. The pork belly was fried, which was a first for me. Also therewas no fat on it, so it was slightly drier than what I expected. The flavor of the meat was good, but muted, however, the friedbroccoli and the green sauce accompanying it helped to make up for it. I also enjoyed the dumplings, particularly the broth theywere in (my date thought the dumplings were a little doughy). For entrees, we ordered the pecan crusted pork ribs and the award winning filet mignon. The ribs were very tender, but could've used a little bit more seasoning. It came with aginger-peach BBQ sauce, which I found tasty. The fried potato salad was basically a large tater tot and not what you wouldtypically think of when you talk about potato salad. Our waiter recommended the filet mignon medium rare, I ordered it medium.Works well for steaks, but the filet seemed drier than I expected. It was very tender, so tender I could cut it with a fork. However, the texture was more like a finely ground beef than steak, which was weird. Taste-wise, it was under-seasoned anddidn't come with any topping other than some truffles. The vegetables that came with it were well cooked and flavorful, so Ijust ate them along with the filet. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and our waiter was attentive. On a sidenote, the pork belly arrived at our table with a piece of hair in it. The waiter immediately apologized and got us a new one. Hetook the pork belly off of the bill and also did not charge us for the extra serving of bread.

I recently visited this restaurant for a date night and had a mixed but overall positive experience. Our waiter started us off with some bread that was absolutely delicious, accompanied by a very sweet butter. The menu indicated that an extra serving of bread would cost $3, but we decided to order it anyway. For our appetizer, we tried the pork belly and pork shrimp dumplings. The pork belly was fried, which was a first for me, and surprisingly, it had no fat, making it slightly drier than I anticipated. However, the flavor of the meat was quite good.

This is truly one of a kind restaurant. You will not find the same dishes anywhere else. Chef Dunlap is extremely talented, his creativity transpired on each plate and in every bite. Everything was prepared with carefully picked fresh ingredients and many fresh local produce. They also has a good selection of wine and cocktails. Wonderful service. MCK is my new favorite restaurant. If you are looking for an inexpensive traditional meal, this is not the place. If you

Midlothian Chef's Kitchen has rapidly become one of my top picks for when friends and family come to visit. The food is exquisite and the cocktails are delightful. The ambiance and service are just as impressive. Whether you choose the filet mignon or the grapefruit cream chicken breast, you really can't make a bad choice! While the dumplings are my least favorite dessert, they still surpass other dumplings I've tried. The peach and burrata salad is refreshing and airy, and the homemade butter adds the perfect touch.

This restaurant is fantastic! I’ll explain why I gave it four stars instead of five, but I want to emphasize that I’ll definitely be returning, and if you haven’t tried this place yet, you really should. The food was exceptional, the cocktails were excellent, and it was evident that they make their own butter—it was delicious! They featured several fish specials, and my immediate impression upon entering was the strong aroma of fish. Additionally, being seated right by the kitchen pass somewhat affected my experience, but both of these factors didn’t overshadow the overall quality of the meal.

**Dining Experience Review: A Mixed Bag** Nestled in a vibrant locale, this restaurant offers a unique ambiance ideal for leisurely dining. Patrons rave about the delicious food, including standout dishes like filet mignon and duck, though some found certain appetizers and desserts lacking value. Service experiences vary; while some diners enjoyed attentive wait staff, others faced slow beverage and food delivery, particularly during peak times. The setting, influenced by external foot traffic, occasionally detracts from the experience. Despite these inconsistencies, many guests express a desire to return, hopeful that next visits will deliver the exemplary experience they anticipated.

The dining experience was fantastic, and the atmosphere was wonderful, with an intimate vibe. The dishes were beautifully presented. The menu features smaller portion sizes, designed for a three-course meal, which I really appreciate. It seems intended to encourage a leisurely dining experience, but I found the service—especially in terms of beverage and food delivery—to be uncomfortably slow.

We absolutely loved our visit! Our server was amazing. We can't wait to come back!

Although the food was very good and our server was attentive, it took so long, at least 25 minutes to get a drink from the bar, that it put a damper on the experience. The food was also rather slow coming out and the Chestnut soup, although very tasty, was not hot, just warm. Would hesitate to go back because of the long waiting.

It was our first visit to this restaurant, and we were truly impressed with the venue and the staff. The manager took the time to chat with us, and she was exceptionally kind. Our server was fantastic as well. The food was good, but not exceptional. The portion sizes were quite small for the price, and despite sharing an appetizer and each having our own main course, I found myself still feeling hungry. This is a lovely place for a special occasion or to impress a date, but perhaps not the best choice if you're really hungry. Overall, it’s a very nice restaurant.

This is a true Gem in North Chesterfield! Some of the best food I have ever had! Great for special occasions, date night or anytime! Highly recomment

We had 7 pm reservations arrived at about 6:50 . We were told our table was not ready. We then noticed several people who came in after us being seated. We had a reservation for 2 as did these other people. After about 15 minutes we questioned a lady who appeared to be the manager and were told that when you make a reservation that they assign you a table so if that table is still occupied you have to wait . So people who come in after you get seated before you if their table becomes available. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants all over the world and have never heard of this it only makes people angry. If you come in as a reservation you should get the first table that fits your party size . Also due to the fact they are trying to be an upscale casual restaurant they should have replaced silverware and brought more water when ours was almost empty. I will say Food was very good so issues seem to be in the front of the house .

It was very busy on the Saturday we were there. Took awhile to get a drink at the bar. Once we were seated 30 min after our reservation...everything was great. Our waitress Olivia was lovely. Food was really good! Will be back in a few weeks!

The food was outstanding! However, it was a bit crowded and noisy. The service was decent, but there were long wait times for both food and drinks. The bar was really slow, and I waited 30 minutes for a drink. Nonetheless, the food truly was fantastic.

Overall decent experience. Had the duck and chicken entrees and they were delicious! The appetizers and dessert portions weren't really worth the price. Time wise, it took two hours from being sat to pay, which was a bit longer than we like but it was also a Saturday night. We'll be back to try more entrees.
