Our service was terrible. We were seated right next to the kitchen and the food was below average. We frequent Cracker Barrel and this was the worst experience we have ever had. This is my favorite spot for comforting home-style food. The service is consistently excellent, and I've always been pleased with everything on the menu. I especially recommend their slow-cooked roast beef! I do wish they would bring back Uncle Herschel's breakfast. On top of that, their country store is a fantastic place to find gifts and unique items, and my grandson absolutely adores the old-fashioned candies that you can't find in regular stores anymore.
On January 4, 2022, I celebrated my 65th birthday with dinner at the Cracker Barrel in Chesapeake, accompanied by my husband. Our waitress, Scarlett, was absolutely wonderful. When I mentioned it was my birthday, she went out of her way to bring me a dessert. To my astonishment, when she returned to our table, she had not only taken care of our meal but also treated me to a piece of cake. I was overwhelmed with emotion and struggled to hold back tears. I have never been so touched by someone's kindness as I was by her thoughtful gesture. We attempted to repay her, but she graciously refused. Scarlett is truly one of a kind, and Cracker Barrel is fortunate to have such a remarkable person on their team. In a world filled with challenges, it’s heartening to know that there are still genuinely kind individuals like Scarlett. Wishing her all the best for her kindness. Richard and Donna Perry.
