Lobo's Cafe - CHAPPAQUA
Lobo's Cafe
Description
Don Emilio offers a dining experience filled with charm, but opinions on the food and service vary widely. While some patrons rave about the delicious nachos and tacos, others find the offerings merely average and the service frustratingly inattentive. Long waits for tables and drinks plague many guests, leading to dissatisfaction. Despite its popularity and lively atmosphere, the restaurant's inconsistent service leaves a sour note. For those seeking authentic Mexican cuisine, alternatives may provide a more satisfying experience without the wait. Overall, Don Emilio remains a contender for fun dining, with the potential for major improvement.

Good food, weird service. I really don't know why everybody likes this place. Food is good, not great. We went there once without reservation, and the place was packed. The owner was nice enough to find us a place next to the kitchen well, no complains, after all we just came in on a busy night. Then, I was sitting there with an empty glass for 40 minutes trying to attract waiter's attention oh, and they were parading right in front of us to the kitchen and back, because, did I mention it, we were sitting next to the kitchen? Anyway, it was so bad it was even funny. Isn't it the first thing they teach you at waiter's school do you want another drink . I don't think we...read more
Owner is awesome. Food is very good a little expensive but hey it is Chappaqua! Service is really really bad. Unfortunately the owner is too nice to crack some heads. Our waitress could not have been more dissinterested. She looked put out if you asked a question and knew nothing about the food. Should I give her slack because it was a busy Saturday? No way. The wait staff could be seen hanging out in the back while I had to go bar to buy drinks for the table TWICE! Emilio you're a nice guy with good food stick to catering.
Overrated and smaller part. on Saturday evening to dinner with the woman. saw on the bar a beer and a margarita 20 dollar. waited an hour plus for a table. the waiter had to be stopped to get a service. Shrimp-dinner with sparing over green mol sauce very good, but had to go out again to feel full. cannot live for the living of me why the place was busy or has a good rating here. one of the most contaminated evening dinners in a long time
Don Emilio may be considered overrated, but it does have a lot of personality. While the food may be average, the atmosphere and charm make up for it. However, if you are looking for authentic Mexican-American cuisine, you may want to try a different restaurant. For a similar experience without the ambiance or drinks, Port Chester Poor Sunset Grille may be a better option.
