In the end, we spent over $50 on food that was disappointing and not enjoyable. I would suggest eating before you arrive and bringing some snacks instead.
Three friends went for lunch at the Marina and were quite disappointed. Two of us ordered catfish sandwiches, but the catfish was dry and mostly batter, lacking the fish flavor we expected. One burger was overcooked and extremely dry as well. The draft beers tasted stale, and at $5 a glass, it felt like a rip-off. We really miss Chef Zoom; we used to love docking the boat and enjoying a meal prepared by a great chef. Now, it’s overpriced and definitely not worth it. I’d recommend grabbing a Subway sandwich on your way to the lake instead!
We've been to other places like Powell, which entice you with great prices but then leave you stranded due to a lack of nearby marinas for fueling up, making the experience more stressful than enjoyable. In comparison, Dale Hollow has excellent marinas, and Sunset is definitely the best among them. I'm excited for my kids to experience it and to keep this tradition going.
The best marina on DHL! They have hundreds of boat slips available for annual leases or temporary storage while you enjoy the lake. Sunset provides all the accommodations and amenities you could possibly need. If you're staying on the water, they offer several options for non-ethanol fuel to keep your marine engine running smoothly, typically at just about $1 more than local gas stations. The staff at the marina is friendly and always ready to assist with anything you need. The restaurant operates seasonally, and it's excellent. I previously reviewed it—just look for Pier 42 restaurant.
