We had a three course set menu serviced alt... read more Enjoyed a special Melbourne Cup Luncheon at Chevals Restaurant at the Newcastle Jockey Club with a group of friends. We had a three course set menu serviced alternate drop, quality food and all meals were all cooked to perfection and enjoyed by all at the table. Delicious meals served and cleared with expertise by friendly staff. Definitely hope to return!

Grilled on dress code at entry for 20 mins then 2 of us seated fine dining set price ,staff good and friendly bit slow.I had Barra and friend had steak .Barra DREADFUL part frozen uncooked inedible and bal ordinary same with steak entrees and deserts very plain and tasteless.Never again

Once seated in the fine d... read more The owners and staff at this restaurant were very particular about the dress code upon entering, which took up 20 minutes of our time. Once seated in the fine dining room, the set price was fair and the service was friendly, though a bit slow. Unfortunately, my barramundi and my friend's steak were disappointing. The barramundi was partially frozen and undercooked, while the steak was bland and unappetizing. The entrees were dull and lacked flavor. Overall, we were not impressed and would not return to this restaurant.
