It is not luxurious enough or good enough to charge 80 dollars to a bunch of tasteless mini bites. Service was not good. We had to ask for water to be served. Waiters were clueless about what was on the Tea Service. For the price, totally not worthy. Would definitely not come back.
Wonderful hotel, but I had an afternoon tea experience that was a bit of a let down. In short, if you have a food allergy, beware! My wife and I were visiting NYC over Thanksgiving to see the parade. We decided to visit the Pierre Two E Bar based on a recommendation from a friend who had previously visited. We arrived right at 2pm so there was only one other person in the bar. This is my first time doing high tea at the Pierre since they moved from the Rotunda. Besides the slight downgrade in atmosphere, service and food quality was on point. Everything we ate was delicious and their tea selection was decent. We tried the Rotunda (strong floral notes) and the Darjeeling (very well balanced black).
Went here for high tea with some friends. The Two E Bar/Lounge, mini sandwiches and quiches were fantastic! Our waitress was very cute and nice as well. We were a fan of all of the sweets offered with the high Two E Bar/Lounge, I think we would have rather had another sandwich or quiche.
