Atípica Restaurante - Braga

We followed the recommendation of the waitress and went with the daily dish of codfish in cream sauce which was just delicious, quite heavy though (1 dish for 2 might work). On top really friendly staff and fair prices. Great value!

Very tasty francesinha, nice floor. When I have been in this restaurante only one waitress speaks english but waiter tries to be polite and communicate with us : When I called to restaurant to make a reservation the person who picked up the phone was very nervous when I asked in Portuguese 'Do you speak english ' and said to me: NO PORTUGUESE.

One thing about Braga that surprised me, pleasantly, I might add, is the amount of not only good restaurants in the historic centre, but also that they're very stylishly designed. Elsewhere, you'll think twice before entering these sort of places, fearing for your bank balance, but here, they're fit for most pockets. I was on my way home, but I wanted to have something to eat first. It was 12, early, but here in Braga, they lunch and dine early. 12, and ATipica was already open. It wasn't very clear what the menu of the day included, but I understood that I had a choice of either bacalhau or arroz de pato. Fearful from the previous night's experience of cod, I opted for the duck rice, of which I had had a better experience. The salad was fresh and the rice was good except it was a little dry, perhaps. Maybe that was why they slapped on a couple of pieces of bacon on top! I didn't have dessert because I wanted to have it in Tibias de Braga! In the end, the menu was just the main dish salad €7.50). Drinks, bread and coffee were extras.

Fantastic Place. Not big, Not too many meals to choose, but very good quality and fast and friendly Service. Historical Building with glas floor. Love this Place. To recommend.
