Touchstone Resort - Bracebridge
Touchstone Resort
Description
Perched on a scenic lake near Port Carling, this resort charms with an infinity pool, lakeside dining and excellent boathouse service — standout steaks and strong lunch offerings — yet inconsistent housekeeping, room cleanliness lapses and a sparse continental breakfast undermine the experience. Guests note understaffed evenings, limited spa facilities, noise between rooms and no EV charging or room service. Ideal for boating day-trips, casual lakeside meals and outdoor relaxation, but book cautiously if you need full-service accommodations or spotless rooms.

We visit a few times each year, and the staff is consistently fantastic! The lunch is excellent!
I had a wonderful dining experience! The steak was cooked to perfection, and the liver was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, making it a pleasant place to be. The owner, Michael, was incredibly kind and friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic dinner!
The atmosphere is always fantastic, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu features creative dishes, and no matter the season, the views of Lake Muskoka are breathtaking.
Upon our arrival, we each spent 90 minutes cleaning the balcony, our room, and the bathroom, as everything was dirty. There were spider webs inside and outside, dried wine spills on the balcony and outdoor furniture, dead bugs on the ceiling above the bed, and the small fridge was not only frosted over but also leaking. The toaster was stained and clearly in need of a thorough cleaning. The indoor restaurant was dark and musty, and the expensive menu left us feeling let down; most dishes were below average, with the exception of the steak. We had to call daily to request fresh towels, as our rooms were not serviced regularly. We also had to request extra soap and toilet paper, as well as the pickup of dirty towels and emptying of trash bins. Additionally, the beach towels given to us at reception were surprisingly small. I regret having to share such negative feedback, but this was the reality of our stay. Given the high cost of this resort, we cannot, in good conscience, recommend it, nor will we be returning.
Beautiful location in the lake. Good restaurant. With a small town located nearby for any of your needs.Rooms: My wife and I had a small, cozy, room near a beach.Food drinks: The resort has a restaurant that was packed one night when I was there. My wife and I only needed drinks. The restaurant was very understaffed, I felt awful for the ladies working that night. Drinks were very tasty.
