I'm giving this restaurant a rating of 3 stars, not due to the food, but because of the staff. I've been here several times for both dine-in and takeout, and I've noticed that the service towards white customers seems quite unfriendly. It's among the worst service I've encountered. The staff often give the impression that they would rather not be there and that they view their work as a chore. Even though the tacos are good and the manager is friendly, every server I've interacted with has been consistently rude. I would prefer to go to Reena across the street or wait for Palapas to open instead. It's crucial for businesses to show appreciation for their customers. I always tip between 20-25% on every order, even for takeout, and I expect to be treated with respect in return.
The breakfast options at this restaurant are amazing, from breakfast tacos to breakfast plates. I make sure to go every Saturday for breakfast and Sunday tacos. It's the best!
My fav restaurant in Boerne Tx... first place I tried when I moved 5 years ago to Boerne Tx... tried others...did not like.... Maques is the best... will miss this place...
This is the best Mexican food around! We recently moved from Boerne to the Rio Grande Valley and haven't found anywhere else that compares.
It 's a hole-in-the-wall taco joint (in a good way). Just like any of the breakfast taco places in town, it 's a local hang-out. Space is tight, so you 'll get to know your neighbors. Be prepared to wait outside for a bit on busier days. Check their days/hours of operation so you don 't miss 'em.
