The Mare Pool
Description
Sporks Cafe offers a bustling atmosphere ideal for lunch, featuring a range of tasty dishes that generally receive positive feedback. However, service inconsistencies persist, with reports of trainee staff lacking adequate training and sometimes unaddressed issues like malfunctioning coffee machines. Cold meals have also been a recurring concern, causing frustration among patrons. Additionally, the cafe struggles with temperature management, leaving diners uncomfortably chilly even in colder weather. Despite these drawbacks, many guests appreciate the quick food service and the convenience of ordering via an app, making Sporks Cafe a mixed yet still appealing dining option.

The worst service EVER HAD I was at the bar waiting to be served and I was the only 1 there and on the the bar was 3 members of staff now I stood at one of the tills where the young lad with glasses was at the till and the BAR supervisor and the young Black girl was at the other till at that point all 3 walked off leaving me there at that point the black girl came off the Bar and noticed that I was there when her and the young lad said was I waiting I went mad and said how they walk off and left me waiting there but the BAR SUPERVISOR HAD GOT HER COAT AND WENT OUT THE BACK AS SHE DID THIS MANY TIMES ON THAT AFTERNOON THIS IS THE WOSRT BAR EVER FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
This is one of the worst bars for staff and management there is never anyone on the bar you have to go down by the glass wash so they can see you to get served. It’s place needs more staff and more focus on the bar so when you enter you are greeted not having to wait 5 minutes to be seen
Yesterday, I went to this restaurant with five friends for lunch. We all ordered our food through the app, which was very convenient. Two of my friends chose the buttermilk chicken burgers, while I opted for the ham and mushroom pizza. The food arrived quickly, but the burgers were missing cheese and bacon. The waitress brought them out later, but the bacon was cold and poorly cooked, with thin fatty strips that were unappetizing. The girls added the cheese to their burgers but didn't like the taste, describing it as 'weird'. While my pizza was delicious, the other meals were just okay. We also got desserts, with mine being a cookie dough slice with ice cream that was very sweet. Next time, I would go for the mini version as a friend did, which was still a good size. Despite the busy atmosphere, the food seemed freshly prepared and reasonably priced.
"Sporks Cafe is a solid choice for lunch despite being quite crowded. We were able to find seats easily. We had to clean our own table, but that wasn't a big deal. The six meals we ordered were all tasty and we had no complaints."
I visit on a regular basis. It’s always freezing cold. Today it’s been zero degrees outside and they still have the air conditioning on. The bifold doors on the front are also drafty. Most people are eating their meals with their coats on. The pub has been like this for the last 10 years and still no change.
