I stopped in for an early beverage before hitting’ the town... read more The Brauerei Unser Bier is located in an old industrial factory next to the Basel Backpacker Hostel. I stopped in for an early beverage before hitting’ the town for the evening. The complex has a high ceiling with lots of the old tools and decorations from when the place was running as an industrial factory. They have a bar with various brews on tap and the menu also includes snacks, food and mixed beverages. On Thursday and Friday after 5pm, they offer a special Degustation Set, which is a selection of five (1-dl) of their house brews ranging from pils, dark, banana and more brought out on a long paddle for only 10CHF. I thought this was the best option as you get to sample a variety of their brews. At first the service was slow, but once the waitress did come over she was friendly and also explained the selection of beers and also suggested the best tasting order in which to sample the beers.
