Perhaps because it was a quiet evening and we were eating (relatively) early, we were treated to a couple of extra courses and were asked to provide feedback to the clearly talented chef. We started with a very unusual gazpacho not cold soup but ice cream then...white asparagus with elderberry foam, scallop on guacamole, tuna in a rich soy based sauce, lamb served in its own juices on a bed of hummous, vanilla cream with sauteed peaches and a kind of local affogato to conclude. My list here does not do justice to the attention to detail offered by our waiter who clearly made it his business to understand the food he was serving. A memorable meal including some new taste sensations worth pushing the boat out!

The angus beef cheeseburgers and the club sandwitch were cold and made carelessly. Cesar salad was supposed to be that. We were disappointed but this turned into despair when the check came. Extremely expensive and bad food. I definately do not reccomend it...

Being part of the hotel Sant's the menu continued the Space theme however the food was excellent, the wait staff spoke excellent English and where happy to split the bill across the table.

The Restauran... read more On a recent work trip I stayed within the Barceló Sants hotel. A pretty great hotel for location and the décor of the place is also fairly unique. The Restaurant Hydrogen is the restaurant in the hotel so I ate here on the first night. The staff were very friendly and quite minimalistic as the place was not too busy on a Monday night. The selection on the menu was very good with plenty to offer with a mix of traditional and experimental. I decided to go for one of the set menus to get the best picks from the chef. All of the food that was on the menu was really tasty and fresh. Great mix of flavours and seasoning throughout. I ordered a glass of house special Rioja with dinner and it was a really great wine. So much so that I bought a few bottles later in the week in the city. My only issue would be the over-use of olive oil in some of the dishes. Unfortunately it overtook the flavours in one or two dishes. If staying in the hotel its definitely worth going to.
